Ágnes Zászkaliczky

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, VISUAL ARTIST, PAINTER, ORGANIST

Music and fine arts plays the main lead in Agnes Zaszkaliczky’s life. Beside her painter career he creates visualizations for monumental musical works. One of these projects is the special Carmina Burana production with the Hungarian State Opera which was presented to the audience in the autumn of 2018.

Between 1998 and 2004 she was the student of Mozarteum in Salzburg in Daniel Chorzempa’s masterclass and in 2004 she graduated as an organist.

Drawing and painting were always present in her life, but it got emphasised after a visit in St. Petersburg. From 2009 she started to learn painting from the masters of Repin Academy in St. Petersburg. Her first individual exhibition was in Szentendre in 2001 and since then she exhibited in Budapest, in Vienna, in Helsinki and in Palm Beach. Since 2016 she is the member of Hungarian National Association of Artists.

She is especially interested in musician portraits, among her works there are portraits of Leonard Bernstein, Annie Fischer, Al di Meola, Lenny Kravitz.

Zaszkaliczky makes music when she portrays a musician friend or an admired one while playing their music to complete the painting’s inspiration. The colors harmonize in her clean, modern/classical compositions; for which she likes to choose a „sound color”. She uses this color as background combined with an abstract geometric design that gives the „tempo” and the setting for the perfect hyperrealist portrait that she will do of the musician in action. The contrast between picture and background creates the perfect rhythm for the overall pain ting that is at the same time great in technique and unique in conception. – Art Daily News International Magazine, Contemporary Art Projets USA
